The North American Stars and Challenger Tours are pleased to announce the First Annual Duchess Hockey Showcase (DHS) which will take place in Dordrecht, Netherlands July 12th-19th, 2020 at Optisport Boulevard, a phenomenal sports complex. Dordrecht is a suburb of Rotterdam and is one hour by bus from Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam.

 

Day One

One the first day in the Netherlands all American teams will gather at the Optisport for our off ice breaker competition for Uber Gift Cards to use while abroad in Europe.

 

Amsterdam

Each team will get to spend one day exploring the city of Amsterdam. Every team will play an early morning 8:30 AM game and afterwards the buses leave for Amsterdam! There is an abundance of activities in Amsterdam everyone is welcomed to enjoy, however for those traveling alone or anyone who wants to join, a group will visit a venue selected the night before by those attending.

 

Tournament Party

Always a crowd favorite is our tournament party. In the past we have hosted the party on boats and international hotels. This year we are excited to announce the Duchess Hockey Showcase 2020 tournament party will be hosted at the Optisport Arena where the ice will be rented out with music, food, drinks, and rental skates for the guests to join in the Stars on the ice!

More Ice Time. Less Stop. Great Competition

To make sure the compete level is high and for players to be able to prepare for their regular seasons, each game will be comprised of two 25 minute periods. The start of every game will be on a clean sheet of ice. Players will get 5 extra minutes per game than a traditional style hockey game and less stoppage time, allowing our players to adjust quickly once their regular season begins


Playoffs

  • Each team is guaranteed 6 games

  • Every team will play three round robin seeding games.

  • Fourth game of the tournament will be the quarter finals

  • Saturday begins semi final, final and consolation games, each consisting of one 30 minute period. Each team will play two games that day
